Evangelium Matt 5:1-12
Gospel Matt 5:1-12
At that time, Jesus seeing the crowds, went up the mountain. And when He was seated, His disciples came to Him. And opening His mouth He taught them, saying, Blessed are the poor is spirit, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven. Blessed are the meek, for they shall possess the earth. Blessed are they who mourn, for they shall be comforted. Blessed are they who hunger and thirst for justice, for they shall be satisfied. Blessed are the merciful, for they shall obtain mercy. Blessed are the clean of heart, for they shall see God. Blessed are the peacemakers for they shall be called children of God. Blessed are they who suffer persecution for justice’ sake, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven. Blessed are you when men reproach you, and persecute you, and, speaking falsely, say all manner of evil against you, for My sake. Rejoice and exult, because your reward is great in heaven.

DALL’OMELIA DI (FROM THE HOMILY BY) DON ENRICO RONCAGLIA – LUNEDI 1 NOVEMBRE 2021

FROM THE HOMILY BY DON ENRICO RONCAGLIA (**)

From the Apocalypse of St. John (Rev 7: 2-12): Do not harm the earth and the sea, and the plants, until we have marked on the forehead the servants of our God. And I understood that the number of those marked was one hundred and forty-four thousand. , belonging to all the tribes of Israel. After this I saw a great multitude, which no one could count, men of all peoples and tribes and peoples and tongues, who stood before the throne and in the presence of the Lamb, dressed in white robes and with palms in their hands, shouting aloud: Hail to our God, who sits on the throne, and to the Lamb.

From the Gospel of Matthew (Matt 5: 1-12). At that time: Jesus, seeing the crowds, went up the mountain. And he said, “Blessed are you, when they curse you, persecute you, and, lying, speak of you all evil for my sake. Rejoice and rejoice, for great is your reward in heaven. “

Today we remember the feast of all saints. It is a favor that the Church has been doing for us since the early centuries. In Rome there was the temple of Agrippa which contained all the statues of pagan gods. It was called the Pantheon. They were pagan superstitions. But when Christianity arrived in the seventh century, the pope gathered all the bodies of the holy martyrs.

The Pantheon was dedicated to the Holy Virgin Mary and the Holy Martyrs. Pope Gregory IV two centuries later dedicated it to all the saints and instituted the feast of All Saints on November 1st.

The number 144,000 indicates their number, a very large number. The palm, symbol of victory, is what distinguishes them. Today we wear the white robe, which is a symbol of our soul.

Today is the day of Christ’s victory over paganism, over the idolatry of false gods. Today we are witnessing the return of paganism, the idolatry of false pagans, they introduce the idol of pachamama, a symbol of death before our martyrs, our saints. It is the advent of the abomination of desolation that the prophet Daniel spoke of! But the symbol of today’s feast is holiness.

The goal of our life is the glory of God! The Lord wants to make us a holy people. For this we must be purified. We must not be afraid of losing material life. Instead, we must think about the salvation of the soul!

Satan, the prince of this world, deludes himself that he has won the battle. But is not so! We must be the martyrs and saints of this era! We must overcome temptations by giving glory to God! With faith, graces are obtained!

The saints are all gathered before the Heavenly Mother. She is the rose, the flower of Paradise. But in order to reach it we have to fight! We have a few years of life, a few years of suffering to wait!

Praised be Jesus Christ! Always be praised!
