HOMILY BY DON ENRICO RONCAGLIA

O Joachim, spouse of St. Anne, father of the kindly Virgin, help your servants to save their souls. Alleluia.

Today the festival is dedicated to St. Joachim (together with St. Anna and Maria’s parent).

They were a sterile couple. For this they began many prayers, fasts and alms.

Joachim as a pious man divided his patrimony into three parts, for the Temple, for the poor and for the family. God chose precisely this family to give birth to Mary.

Mary was born of a people who awaited the Savior, according to the prophecies of the Holy Scriptures.

According to the same prophecies, the people of Israel believed that the advent of the Messiah was, in fact, imminent.

In the same way we now place ourselves in God’s hands waiting for the manifestation of the son of God in history.

To renew the Church through the intervention of the Immaculate Heart of Mary!

Praised be Jesus Christ!
