LA RICERCA DELLA VERA FEDE - THE SEARCH OF TRUE FAITH

But seek first the kingdom of God and His justice, and all these things shall be given you besides.

Evangelium Matt 6:24-33
Scit enim Pater vester, quia his ómnibus indigétis.

Matt 6:24-33
At that time, Jesus said to His disciples: No man can serve two masters; for either he will hate the one and love the other, or else he will stand by the one and despise the other. You cannot serve God and mammon. Therefore I say to you, do not be anxious for your life, what you shall eat; nor yet for your body, what you shall put on. Is not the life a greater thing than the food, and the body than the clothing? Look at the birds of the air: they do not sow, or reap, or gather into barns; yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are not you of much more value than they? But which of you by being anxious about it can add to his stature a single cubit? And as for clothing, why are you anxious? Consider how the lilies of the field grow; they neither toil nor spin, yet I say to you that not even Solomon in all his glory was arrayed like one of these. But if God so clothes the grass of the field, which flourishes today but tomorrow is thrown into the oven, how much more you, O you of little faith! Therefore do not be anxious, saying, ‘What shall we eat?’ or, ‘What shall we drink?’ or, ‘What are we to put on?’ -for after all these things the Gentiles seek- for your Father knows that you need all these things. But seek first the kingdom of God and His justice, and all these things shall be given you besides.

OMELIA DI DON ENRICO RONCAGLIA

Oggi festeggiamo Maria Santissima.

HOMILY BY DON ENRICO RONCAGLIA

Today we celebrate Holy Mary.

We must believe more than ever in the powerful intercession of Mary. She became, thanks to Jesus Christ himself. also our Mother. So we must never despair: there is always you who intervenes, even miraculously if necessary, to help us! This conviction must always be present in our minds and hearts (and it must be neighed on our part with prayer!). From today’s Gospel of Providence we draw an analogous important teaching. We cannot serve God and Mammon at the same time! We must therefore take sides without ambiguity (*). In God’s eyes we are not forgotten at all! God the Father in fact provides at every moment for all creatures and in particular for us men for whom God the Father created the World. But we must love God the Father and respect his commandments! Today we celebrate the saint of Providence par excellence, Saint Cajetan of Thiene who lived between 1400 and 1500. After moving to Rome, Gaetano took care of the Catholic counter-reform and founded the congregation of “regulars” or Theatines. Among its rules, extreme trust in Providence (they never asked for alms but lived on it!). Gaetano took a radical position on the reform that the Catholic Church had to undertake. In fact, he argued that the reform itself should be based above all on the conversion and personal conscience of all Catholics.

Praised be Jesus Christ!
