At that time, as Jesus was speaking to the multitudes, a certain woman from the crowd lifted up her voice and said to Him, Blessed is the womb that bore You, and the breasts that nursed You. But He said, Rather, blessed are they who hear the word of God and keep it.

Oggi celebriamo la festa della Madonna della Neve. In qualche modo la festa di oggi ricorda un prodigio, una nevicata miracolosa in agosto per indicare a Roma il luogo dove doveva essere poi editifata la basilica di Santa Maria Maggiore.
L’evento ci indica che nulla e’ impossibile a Dio. La societa’ umana che prima ci tentava e ci allettava e ora ci minaccia. Significa che il potere di questo mondo sta per crollare!
Non e’ infatti possibile che Dio possa sopportare a lungo la pèrsecuzione? Dio ci ha dato sua Madre. Non dobbiamo avere paura delle minacce! Il Signore accorrera’ in aiuto a coloro che hanno perseverato nella fede attendendo in fede il Suo aiuto.
Abbiamo vicino la Madonna che ci aiuta, ci guida e ci protegge!

Today we celebrate the feast of the Madonna della Neve. Somehow today’s feast recalls a miracle, a miraculous snowfall in August to indicate to Rome the place where the basilica of Santa Maria Maggiore was to be later edited.
The event shows us that nothing is impossible for God. The human society that previously tempted and allured us and now threatens us. It means that the power of this world is about to collapse!
Is it not in fact possible that God can endure persecution for a long time?
God gave us his Mother. We must not be afraid of threats!
The Lord will come to the aid of those who have persevered in the faith, waiting for His help in faith.
We have Our Lady near us who helps us, guides us and protects us!
