‘My house is a house of prayer,’ but you have made it a den of thieves.

Le letture di domenica vengono riascoltate. Il pianto di Gesu’ su Gerusalemme. Il popolo di Gerusalemme non ha voluto riconoscere il dolore di Gesu’ e nemmeno quello di Maria.
Perche’ distratti dal peccato e dalle tentazioni, molti non hanno riconosciuto Gesu’ e la sua grazia. Dopo pochi anni Gerusalemme e il suo tempio saranno distrutti completamente.
Ma cio’ che e’ accaduto a Gerusalemme puo’ accadere ora negli ultimi tempi. Non abbiamo saputo riconoscere Gesu’ nella verita’ e nella sincerita’. Occorre la vera conversione. Cominciando da noi stessi e non accusando semplicemente gli altri. Ma la conversione vera deve essere vissuta in noi stessi. Pretenderla dagli altri non e’ la stessa cosa.
Non ci sono prove al di sopra delle nostre forze. Occorre che tutti noi ci apriamo a Dio.
Una precisazione importante riguarda la preghiera di S.Ignazio (“Anima Cristi”) usualmente recitata dopo la S. Messa. Comporta un’indulgenza che diventa plenaria alla fine di ogni mese.

Sunday’s readings are replayed.
The cry of Jesus over Jerusalem. The people of Jerusalem did not want to acknowledge the pain of Jesus and also that of Mary.
Because distracted by sin and temptations, many did not recognize Jesus and his grace. After a few years, Jerusalem and its temple will be completely destroyed.
But what has happened in Jerusalem can happen now in the last days.
We have not been able to recognize Jesus in truth and sincerity. Starting with ourselves and not accusing others. What is needed is our conversion. But true conversion must be achieved first in ourselves. Expecting it from others is not the same thing.
There is no temptation beyond our strength. We all need to open up to God.
An important clarification concerns the prayer of St. Ignatius (“Anima Cristi”) usually recited after the Holy Mass. It involves an indulgence that becomes plenary at the end of each month.
